Vegan Diner makes my mouth water, as well as dream of sitting in a 1957 Chevy Bel Air booth, sipping on a vegan malt and poppin' another dime in the juke box. Okay, so I'm not going to go sit in a car booth at a diner, but I am going to make these recipes at home because they look way too good!
Julie dishes up classic comfort foods like Garlic-Dill Potato salad, All-American Beer-Battered Onion Rings, Quinoa Burgers, Barbecued "Ribz" and Mocha Malts. You can trust that everything in this book is top notch, as Julie is well versed in pleasing both vegan and omni palates alike at her popular food cart Native Bowl, here in Portland. Julie is also the genius behind the "steaming method" for homemade vegan sausages, which has revolutionized many vegan kitchens, and probably put a dent in Tofurky's profits. And finally, Julie and her hubby Jay are behind Everyday Dish TV, an awesome online cooking show. Just when did she find time to write this darn book!?
